We are planning our “always popular” field tour of abandoned mine lands, reclamation, and AMD remediation sites for Tuesday, October 14th @ 8AM-3:30PM. If you would like to go, you will need to purchase a separate field tour registration from the registration page.
The tour will be limited based on the number of available seats. Registrations for the field tour are first come, first serve and often sell out before the regular registration deadline. These are not automatically included with sponsorship.
Note: Attendees will be required to walk ~1/2 mile total on level terrain to see some of the treatment systems. There is also a 1/4 mile walk uphill, but shuttles will be available for this portion of the walk. It will be a full day tour and participants are encouraged to wear appropriate clothing for Central Pennsylvania weather in mid-October and sturdy comfortable shoes.
